I remember being so tired, all I could do was cry while folding the laundry. I have been so frustrated that I shattered a plate against a wall when arguing with my husband, I have yelled at my twin boys when they unstuffed their diapers all over their bedroom. After they dumped entire bottles of shampoo on my bathroom carpet. (White carpet! Red shampoo!). I've been so feverish and trying to rock and comfort a sick toddler all night when every cell in my body was burning. I've survived the joys and travails of 7 teens. I get it. And I know how to play the long game. When I see parents who struggle to manage their family, my heart goes out to them. That's why I developed the Parenting Game Plan! My years as a licensed counselor working with families, children, and teens has shown me that most parents expect too little of their children. I've spent years working in residential treatment centers with teens, in a public school setting as a counselor, in low income clinics, private agencies, faith based centers, and government agencies. Along with raising a huge family of kids, my clinical experience helped me to connect the dots quickly. Every child can do better, and with a great game plan, families can do ALOT better. They just need some expert coaching. That's the Parenting Game Plan.
